  • Long-distance and regional traffic is returning to normal
  • Most of the long-distance trains are running again
  • In the afternoon again major problems in rail traffic

After the “Ylenia” storm, most of the rail routes are now open again. However, there are still restrictions around Bremen, as there are still no ICE and Intercity trains north of Münster. This affects the route between Bremen and the Ruhr area. According to Deutsche Bahn, regional traffic has largely returned to normal. The railway company Metronom has also resumed its train services in the morning. On some routes in Lower Saxony, however, there are still impairments.

From Friday afternoon, the German weather service assumes another storm front with sometimes even higher wind speeds than with “Ylenia”. There is also a renewed severe weather warning for Bremen. The railway said that renewed restrictions can therefore be expected. DB asks its passengers to find out about their connection on bahn.de or in the DB Navigator before starting their journey. Overall, the impairments in rail traffic are expected to continue until Saturday.
