Gaming, white goods and kitchen equipment account for much of the growth, according to figures from the industry organization Elektronikkbransjen on Thursday.
– After a turnover growth of as much as 18 percent from 2019 to 2020, we had expected a result closer to a normal year in 2021, instead the growth in the electronics market continues, says CEO Jan Røsholm of the Electronics Industry Foundation.
Turnover increased from NOK 42.3 billion in 2020 to NOK 43.6 billion in 2021 and includes sales of audio, video and multimedia, white goods and small electrical products, photography, mobile phones and laptops to the consumer market.
– 2021 was also marked by corona and shutdowns, and especially sales of white goods, gaming products and kitchen equipment continue to grow, says Røsholm.
