Karl Simon’s film “Alcarras” wins the main prize at the Berlin Film Festival / Article

The film tells the story of peach growers in Spain and the difficulties they face.

The 36-year-old Simona awarded the prize to her family, noting that without them and her closeness to the world, she would not have been able to tell the story.

18 films competed for the Golden Bear.

This year, the Berlin Film Festival is taking place in person. However, only people who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 or have recently contracted the disease are allowed to stay at the festival venues.

Cinemas are allowed to accommodate 50% of the maximum number of visitors, but all balls and receptions, which are usually an important part of the festival, have been canceled.
