Mercedes-AMG have always been known for their tremendous power and torque numbers, and it looks like it won’t be any different in electric times. Why also, when with an electric motor you can achieve stunning numbers more easily than with an internal combustion engine.

The latest addition to the family of Mercedes with doping from Affalterbach is the EQE model, which showed as standard last year at the Munich Motor Show straight in two versions – 43 and 53. In both cases, the standard is all-wheel drive, realized by an electric motor on each axle, as well as rear wheel rotation, which helps stability at high speeds and agility at low speeds.

Of course, the stronger and weaker versions differ mainly in performance. The AMG EQE 43 4Matic offers 476 hp and 858 Nm, which is enough to accelerate to 100 in 4.2 seconds if you have at least 50 percent battery charge. Top speed is 210 km / h.
–
AMG EQE 53 4Matic + handles 626 hp and 950 Nm, accelerates to 100 in 3.5 seconds with a battery charged to at least 70% and a maximum of 220 km / h. If you pay extra for the AMG Dynamic Plus package, power can increase to 687 horsepower for a short time and torque to 1000 Nm, which will improve acceleration to one hundred to 3.3 seconds. Top speed will increase to 240 km / h.
–
Both versions can handle charging power up to 170 kW.

Performance will increase for a short time because this maximum is available in Race Start mode with the Boost function turned on. So something like launch control known from conventional sports cars. Mercedes indicates the value of 626 hp as 100% and those 687 hp as 110%.
–
It is interesting that even the mentioned 100% power is available to the driver only in Sport + and Race Start modes without the Boost function. In all the others, including “mere” Sports, 50-90% of the performance is available. Not that it would be just enough, even 50% in the mode for slippery surfaces has the driver under his right foot 238, respectively. 313 horsepower, but even so, we can only hope that there will be an adjustable mode that allows you to use 100% power and leave the rest of the car in a comfortable setting.

In the case of an electric car, the range on a single charge is also essential, which has decreased compared to the current EQE. With a battery of 90.6 kWh of usable capacity, the AMG EQE 43 manages to cover 462-533 km on a single charge according to the WLTP methodology; for AMG EQE 53 it is 444-518 km. In reality, of course, it will depending on driving style and, for example, outside temperature.
–
Both versions can be charged with an output of up to 170 kW, which under ideal conditions – especially the correct battery temperature and low charge – will charge energy for 180 km in 15 minutes. An 11kW on-board charger is standard for AC charging, it is possible to have 22kW for an additional charge.
–
Aerodynamics is the alpha and omega of the electric car and determines the design of the car.

It is also worth mentioning the navigation function called “Electric Intelligence”, which plans the route, including charging stops, taking into account the estimated energy consumed during the journey. In doing so, it takes into account both the topography of the route and the driving speed, as well as the requirements for heating or air conditioning of the interior. And, of course, it recalculates everything depending on changes in the driver’s requirements or the density of traffic on the route.
–
Mercedes has also announced the luggage compartment capacity – which is 430 liters – and the curb weight – 2525 kg. The dimensions are 4964 mm in length, 1906 mm in width and 1492 mm in height; all this data applies to both versions.
–
Seats are one of the things that makes AMG EQE different from regular versions.

Of course, the chassis has also been modified, mechanically for greater rigidity and less cornering. Adaptive adjustable dampers have also been modified and are now more accurate than standard EQE.
–
Finally, how does EQE AMG differ from each other and also from civilian EQEs in terms of appearance? Of course it’s a different radiator grille and new bumpers, a stern spoiler or new wheels. It was, of course, a more aggressive look, but without the tax in the form of greater air resistance.
–
The car is powered by two electric motors, one on the front and one on the rear axle.

The cabin has new seats with a more massive side guide, a new steering wheel with a flat bottom and, of course, logos and specific infotainment functions. It can have a screen across the entire dashboard, as the photos show; however, it is not standard. And there is even a special set of artificial sounds called the “AMG sound experience”, which depends on the driving mode chosen and has a little added to the driving experience.
–
What is not in the world yet are the prices and the start date of sales. However, we anticipate that Mercedes will reveal prices and open order books within a few months.
