The real estate company Heimstaden, which is controlled by investor Ivar Tollefsen, announces on Wednesday morning that it has bought 806 homes for a total price of 1.7 billion Swedish kroner.
The investment in Jönköping, which is a short drive east of Gothenburg, is the second in just a few months after Heimstaden made its entry into the city in September last year. A local office will also be established in connection with the latest transaction, the company states in a statement.
– The properties are well-preserved and fit well into our strategy for expansion in the region, says Investment Director Mattis Falkentoft.
The new portfolio, as Heimstaden himself describes it, consists of 806 existing homes, as well as 21 attic apartments that are being built these days. They are all located in the center of Jönköping, it is stated.
The homes are spread over 38 properties and have an average size of 68 square meters.
Ivar Tollefsen’s Fredensborg is the largest owner in Heimstaden with just over 70 per cent of the shares. Heimstaden owns about 150,000 homes with a total value of NOK 290 billion.(Terms)Copyright Dagens Næringsliv AS and / or our suppliers.
