Ukraine subjected to computer attacks

On Tuesday afternoon, there were reports that several institutions in Ukraine had been subjected to a computer attack.

Ukrainian authorities now confirm that a so-called DDoS attack has been launched. Ukraine’s Defense Ministry, military forces and several banks are among those affected.

It is Ukraine’s state center for strategic communication and information security that states that the country is exposed to a computer attack.

According to NorSIS, a DDoS attack means that a network of computers is used to flood a web page or other resource online.

– The server can only handle a certain number of requests at a time, and if an attacker overloads the server with requests, it will not be possible for everyone who sends a request to the website to see the website. The effect of this is that you do not get access to this page or resource, NorSIS writes on its website.
