Europe will be destroyed if Russia and Ukraine go to war

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Secretary General (Secretary General) of the United Nations (PBB), Antonio Guterres, said the price of war between Ukraine and Russia too expensive.

“I am deeply concerned by the escalation of tensions and speculation regarding a potential military conflict in Europe. The price of human suffering, destruction and damage for Europe and global security is too high to contemplate,” said Gutteres in a press statement regarding the situation in Ukraine, Monday (14/2) , quoted from the official UN website.

“We certainly cannot accept the potential for such a disastrous confrontation,” he said.

In addition, Gutteres said he welcomed the diplomatic efforts currently being carried out by various countries. However, he needs more diplomatic efforts to prevent war from erupting in Ukraine.

In solving the existing tension between Russia and Ukraine, several state leaders visited Russia, one of which was Germany.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Tuesday (15/2) to discuss tensions between Russia and Ukraine.

Opening this meeting, Putin said, “Unfortunately, we will use the time we have to discuss issues related to the situation in Europe and security,” including Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Scholz stated, “It is becoming clear that we now have to talk about the difficult situation regarding security in Europe.”

These diplomatic discussions are one way to resolve the conflict between Kiev and Moscow, given that Russia has already stationed thousands of their troops near the Ukrainian border, sparking a potential invasion.

Nevertheless, Russia appears to be still open to diplomatic efforts. This is evident from the Kremlin’s decision to withdraw its troops close to the Ukrainian border.

However, this move was planned and Russia will continue to deploy their troops at will.
