The first to receive it will be those over 3 years of age who are immunosuppressed and those over 50 years of age who have received Sinopharm.

In March, the fourth dose of the Covid-19 vaccine will begin to be applied to those over 3 years of age who are immunocompromised and those over 50 years of age who have received Sinopharm. Although the cases have begun to decrease, the Government is betting that the vaccination schemes will be completed to begin to say goodbye little by little to the pandemic that has been raging since March 2020.
Despite the fact that the Ministry of Health reported that this decision will take effect from March, it was not specified on what date, since everything will depend on when the immunosuppressed people who have received the Chinese vaccine have had the reinforcement four months before. In turn, another important point is that it is not known which brand people will receive.
In new research it was found that antibodies against the coronavirus usually decrease 5 months after any of the vaccines have been applied. In this sense, and given an escalation of cases in Argentina between December and January, the health portfolio had decided to lower it to 4 months. In this way, each jurisdiction was responsible for enabling and giving the order to know who would be the first to receive the additional dose. For this case, the same will happen.
So far, Israel, Chile, Denmark, Hungary and Switzerland are the ones who have already begun to inoculate with the fourth dose, most of them since January. In Argentina, 88.2% of the population received 1 dose. With a complete scheme, 78.2% are counted and 33.5% received an additional dose.
The immunosuppressed or those who fall into the group with some risk factor are: those undergoing oncological treatment for solid and onco-hematological tumors, those who received a solid organ transplant in immunosuppressive treatment, and those who were transplanted with hematopoietic progenitor cells in the last 2 years or under immunosuppressive treatment.
Also those with moderate or severe primary immunodeficiency, people living with HIV regardless of CD4 count and viral load levels, people on active treatment with high-dose corticosteroids or immunosuppressive medication, with chronic renal failure on hemodialysis, with autoimmune diseases and / or treatments with immunosuppressants, immunomodulators or biologicals.
Another of the groups that enter this first stage are people over 50 years of age who have received doses of Sinopharm. This is because the Chinese vaccine is the least effective, especially in that age range and that is why since December they have been included in the main factors to receive an additional dose.
