An Australian gang that trafficked drugs in Greece and was imprisoned on the testimony of Haskovo resident Turgai Sali ordered his assassination. It was carried out by the Mexican Victor Omar, who was also in the group, but was released earlier from prison, learned “24 hours” from an important person in the Interior Ministry.
Although they are already in prison, the Australians were worried because they had a second case pending. Sally’s testimony was key to their sentencing. Therefore, the bandits ordered Omar to liquidate Turgai. He arrived in Bulgaria on February 10 by bus from RS Macedonia. He used a fake Spanish passport. He immediately headed south. He first rented a white Renault Clio for 23 euros a day from a company in Kardzhali. Then he arrived in Haskovo.

Haskovo Police Chief Senior Commissioner Nedan Hadjiev explained. He was filmed by security cameras. According to “24 Chasa”, the identification became easy because the man has a tattooed head.
After learning the habits of an MMA fighter and food supplement trader, Omar waited for him on the evening of February 13. He fired from the open window of the car while Sally was talking to a friend. The aim was for the shell casings to fall inside it, making it difficult for forensic scientists. This turned out to be a big mistake, the criminal would find out later and in a difficult way.

Sally was immediately taken to the Haskovo hospital, and later transported from there to a medical facility in Plovdiv.
The man was conscious all the time and managed to testify. “I don’t know the shooter, he doesn’t speak Bulgarian,” the man said. Turgay also gave a description of the attacker – clothes, physique and other specific features, which helped to specify who the perpetrator may be. During his operation in Plovdiv, a projectile was removed from a bullet. Shortly after the intervention, however, the man died.
Immediately after the shooting, Omar drove to Sofia in a white Renault. Several cameras detected him on the Trakia highway. During the night the man settled in the hostel “Chance 2” in the area of Lion’s Bridge. He paid 104 leva for two nights in one of the two separate rooms on the site. You also took a drink from the fridge. He paid in cash with Bulgarian money.
However, the police quickly found him.
The criminal was detained at this hostel on Monday morning.

So on Monday at 6.30 in the morning Omabukvalno was caught in white pants.
Although he was alone in the room, everyone in the hostel quickly understood what was happening. “We were startled because we were sleeping, and suddenly it was full of armed men. It took me a while to realize that they were policemen, “German Mika told 24 Chasa in broken English.
In his room, detectives found the mask and clothes he was wearing during the murder. They matched exactly the description Sally had given during his lifetime.
In his car, forensic scientists found a case for CCI Blazer 9×19 Luger. It matched the bullet found in Sally’s buttocks perfectly. It is the patron who explains why the man died. It is of the full metal shell type. Thus

After Omar was detained, it became clear that the man had been convicted in Greece as a member of a weed gang. Sally’s testimony played a major role. He and the Australians with whom he worked and was in prison have communicated in recent days, including the night of the murder, the Interior Ministry told 24 Chassa. And they pointed out that the Greek authorities also assisted in the operation of the First Criminal Police Department in the General Directorate of the National Police.
In addition to the case, police are looking for a connection to the murder of a businessman in Greece in 2018. Two brothers from Haskovo were arrested for the crime in our southern neighbor. According to acquaintances, Turgay was the driver of one of them and was even initially arrested. However, he later became a witness in the case.
“We cannot say whether the victim is a witness in the case in question, because the investigation is not being conducted in Bulgaria,” said Haskovo Interior Ministry Director Senior Commissioner Nedan Hadjiev. However, he said they were looking for a connection. Specify that they are working on other versions, including personal motives, love stories, drug distribution.
The murdered Haskovo man is not a criminal, but he came into the sight of the police, the Ministry of Interior said.
Omar has been charged with contract murder and could face up to life in prison. They will ask for his permanent arrest.
