The Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League have replaced Stanley Cup winner Tyler Tofoli in Calgary’s Flames, the league’s website reported on Monday.
On Monday, Montreal’s Canadiens exchanged the 29-year-old striker for Calgary’s Flames in exchange for Tyler Pitlick and Swedish Emil Heineman. The Canadiens also received a first-round election in the 2022 NHL Draft and a fifth-round election in the 2023 NHL Draft. “We’re happy to attract Tyler,” said Brad Triliving, general manager of Flames. “He is the winner of the Stanley Cup. In my opinion, he is among the top six attackers in the league. He has established himself as a scorer in this league. He can play in full, majority and minority, and given his career, I think he will be a great addition to our team. ”
Tofoli has scored 26 points (9 + 17) in 37 games this season. This was his second season at the Canadiens after signing a four-year contract worth $ 17 million (€ 15 million) on October 12, 2020. He missed 11 games after a manual operation, injuring himself on December 4 in a game against Nashville’s Predators. The hockey player has also played for the Los Angeles Kings, who drafted him with the 47th issue in 2010, and the Vancouver Canucks.
Tofoli scored 370 points in 614 Main Event games (182 + 188) and 39 points in 76 Stanley Cup games, including 14 points in seven games during the cup season (seven goals and seven assists). In the spring of 2014, he and the Kings raised the Stanley Cup over their heads. A year later in the Czech Republic, he became world champion in the Canadian national team.
The Canadiens league, with 23 points in 48 matches with this change, demonstrates that they are no longer hoping to enter the Stanley Cup this season. Meanwhile, Flames ranks sixth in the Western Conference with 58 points in 45 games. The 30-year-old striker Pitch has scored 86 points (47 goals and 39 assists) in 311 games for Edmonton’s Oilers, Dallas’ Stars, Philadelphia’s Flyers, Arizona’s Coyotes and Flames. The striker Heineman was chosen by the Florida Panthers in the second round of the 2020 NHL Draft with 43rd place and was replaced by the striker Sam Bennett on April 12. The 20-year-old striker spends the season in the Swedish championship team Leksands, scoring 16 points in 36 games (11 goals and five assists).
