Bern, February 14, 2022 – Switzerland and Singapore are working together to hold an international fintech conference. From 21.-23. The Point Zero Forum will take place in Zurich for the first time on June 1, 2022. The forum aims to serve as a platform for global leaders from the public and private finance and business sectors to drive innovation in digital technology. The forum will be opened by Federal Councilor Ueli Maurer and Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat. Thomas Jordan, President of the Governing Board of the Swiss National Bank, leader of the Swiss finance and fintech sector as well as international top representatives from the industry will take part in the forum.
The State Secretariat for International Financial Matters (SIF) and Elevandi, an entity founded by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), are jointly organizing the first Point Zero Forum from 21 to 23 June 2022 in Zurich.
“As one of the world’s leading and innovative financial centers, Switzerland is an ideal host for bringing international financial market and supervisory authorities together with new players from the fintech world,” says Federal Councilor Ueli Maurer. And further: “Switzerland has been maintaining an intensive financial dialogue with Singapore for a long time.”
Thomas Jordan, Chairman of the Governing Board of the Swiss National Bank (SNB), emphasizes: “The SNB and MAS work closely together in the fintech area and both are heavily involved in the BIS Innovation Hub with the Center Switzerland and the Center Singapore. The ability to create and implement technological innovation is an important success and stability factor for the financial sectors in Singapore and Switzerland.»
Heng Swee Keat, Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic Policy, says: “Digital technology has enormous potential to change the world for the better, especially through finance. To unleash the potential, we need to find new ways of working together, tackling the key global challenges as partners and embracing the new opportunities. Singapore and Switzerland co-organized the first Point Zero Forum, bringing together technology, financial institutions and regulators. With this forum, we can add momentum to the global fintech dynamic and drive innovation and change.”
The event serves as a platform for global leaders from the public and private sectors to drive an intensive exchange of ideas and knowledge and to advance fintech and web3 in the digital economy. More information can be found on the newly launched website.
