Very serious. What happened on Friday at the press conference that is held every day from and by public power, from the power of the Presidency of the Republic, was very serious.
The president, who is the president who has agglutinated power the most in the last 25 years, exhibited the income of a citizen. In this case he was a journalist, but he could have been anyone.
The president violated the most elementary rights of a citizen. That fact alone is a crime. However, if it comes from the head of the Executive Power, it is also an abuse of power. All this without mentioning the lack of ethics in the intention and achievement of the act. There is no way to defend the president. The defense is an apology for the crime.
Of course, the case is aggravated by the circumstances: a president who is not interested in law or democratic values; the president’s son in clear conflict of interest, being linked to a company that was awarded millions of dollars in contracts with the Morena government.
Power has limits and not only legal, but also ethical. In this case both were crossed.
We realized that this act of state power, this violation of elementary human rights, that this power surge, if it could be done against Carlos Loret, was because it could be done against anyone.
We all know that, in addition, the act is exemplary. A governor whose state has elections this year knows this and who, seeing what happened on Friday, already realized that if he does not grant what the government wants, he could end up in the same place of reckless and authoritarian display; The judge and the magistrate who looks with astonishment at the violation of law knows it.
And, in the face of the darkness and the display of power by the State, in the afternoon-night, a spontaneous citizen exercise was carried out through a platform led by a handful of brave men and women who put up what they had to listen to us others and freely express our solidarity.
The organizers of that “Space” spent hours trying to give the floor, hours of democratic exercise, of power and citizen strength, hours that turned the darkness of the abuse of power into the hope of the peaceful indignation of the citizens. Pure hope, citizen dignity, Mexican dignity.
