Detachment 88 Anti-terror Police arrested and appointed DPW cadres Ummah Party Bengkulu Province with the initials RH as a terrorist suspect. The Ummat Party alluded to Densus having a bad role in capturing terrorists, so it asked the government evaluate Densus.
“Look track record Detachment 88 is in the process of arresting suspected terrorists who are not good, we propose that the government evaluate the procedures for working with Densus, so that it does not become a terror for the community,” said Ummat Party spokesman Mustofa Nahrawardaya when contacted, Sunday (13/2/2022).
Mostofa said the arrests made by Densus 88 should not be a terror to the public. He also brought up the National Terrorism Prevention Agency (BNPT) which recently apologized for the list of hundreds of Islamic State-affiliated Islamic boarding schools.
“Especially yesterday, BNPT apologized for the inaccurate information on hundreds of Islamic boarding schools labeled as ISIS affiliates. Don’t let this arrest become a new form of terror,” he said.
Then, Mostofa discussed the terrorism case trial of former General Secretary (Sekum) of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Munarman, who he said was coercion of will in the case. Mostofa conveyed the impression that Densus was ‘less professional’.
“In fact, at Munarman’s trial, I caught the impression of ‘less professional’ Densus. So there was an impression of coercion in this case,” said Mustofa.
Proud Ummah Party RH Joins
Mostofa explained the work of his cadre, RH, who was arrested by Densus a few days ago in Bengkulu. Mustofa explained that RH had been an administrator in a number of large Islamic organizations before joining the Ummat Party.
“RH is not a newcomer to the movement. He was not an activist yesterday afternoon. Before joining the Ummah Party, he was also the manager of a number of large Islamic organizations in the country,” he said.
Mustofa said RH is a lecturer at a well-known university in Bengkulu. According to him, the Ummat Party was very proud when RH decided to join them.
“So, when (RH) joined the Ummat Party, we were very proud of its capacity. There is nothing wrong with joining RH to our party. The Ummat Party is very open to anyone who has a strong commitment to building the country, fighting in the way of Allah, with have a strong intention to fight injustice and uphold justice, and have a good background, so whoever it is, deserves to join the Ummah Party,” said Mustofa.
