Lombok –
Francesco Bagnaia showing his bruised arm. He said he was injured after being hit by a pebble in the ground Mandalika Circuit.
The 2022 MotoGP pre-season test at Sirkut Mandalika entered the last day, Sunday (13/2). 24 Riders have been trying out Indonesia’s newest circuit for three days.
The riders are looking for the best suit and performance of the bike on this 4.3 km circuit. Later, the Mandalika Circuit will be the second race of the 2022 MotoGP on January 18-20, after the season opener series in Qatar.
One of the complaints about the riders at the Mandalika Circuit is the dirty track. There is dust to pebbles that make them sick.
Ducati rider, Francesco “Pecco” Bagnaia is one of the complainers. To the media crew at the Media Center, Bagnaia even showed the scars on his hands. He said it was because he was hit by a pebble on the track.
“The stones (gravel-red) are the problem here. Actually, if it’s dust, it’s like in Argentina and in Qatar,” he explained.
“It looks like the stones came from outside the track (which then entered the track, then was thrown because it hit the tire of the rider in front and hit Bagnaia-ed),” he added.
The bruises on his left arm were quite obvious. Bagnaia admitted that his condition is still fine.
“The dirty track made it difficult for us to race and go fast on the track,” he said.
“However, the Safety Commission has promised us that when the races come, the track will be cleaner,” he concluded.
Previously, the MGPA had spoken about the dirty track at the Mandalika Circuit since the first day of the pre-season test, on Friday (11/2). MGPA admits that it will work hard to clean the track at the Mandalika Circuit so that the riders feel comfortable.
“We have high safety standards with the assistance of several parties involved, such as the FIM, IMI, and Dorna,” said the Managing Director of the Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA) who is also CEO of the Pertamina GrandPrix Mandalika MotoGP Race Committee, Priandhi Satria in a statement received. detikSport.
