63 games will be played in the 21/22 DFB Cup. Is Sky broadcasting again on pay TV or is ARD broadcasting on free TV? You can read information about the broadcast on television and the live stream here.
On August 6, 2021, the games for the DFB Cup started with the 1st main round for the 79th time. They end with the final on May 21, 2022. A total of 63 games will take place in the DFB-Pokal 21/22, which you can follow at any time via our live ticker.
At this point you will also receive information on when you can watch the games live in the free stream or on free TV and which games are only shown on pay TV.
DFB Cup: broadcast on TV and live stream on Sky, ARD, Sport1
All 63 games of the DFB Cup tournament are broadcast live by the pay TV provider Sky transfer. The Munich broadcaster has secured the rights to all games. The public broadcaster ARD however, shows a total of nine games live. In the first two rounds there is one game each, in the round of 16 and semi-finals there are two games, and the final is also broadcast live. And also the free TV station Sport1 broadcasts live: fans can watch one game per round in full length there free of charge.
The rights will be renegotiated in the coming season. Then the broadcasting rights for the 2022/23 to 2025/26 seasons will be reassigned.
Broadcast at the DFB Cup 21/22: schedule and dates
The 1st main round of the DFB Cup took place from August 6th to 25th, 2021. This will be followed by the second round at the end of October. The round of 16 matches were played on January 18th and 19th, 2022, followed by the quarterfinals on March 1st and 2nd, 2022. The semifinals will be played on April 19th and 20th, 2022. Fans traditionally experience the highlight of the DFB Cup, the final game, in the Berlin Olympic Stadium, where the game will take place on May 21, 2022.

Final and format in the DFB Cup: defending champions and winners
The final of the DFB Cup game will take place on May 21, 2022. As usual, the game will be played in the Olympic Stadium in Berlin. In order to make it into the 2022 final, a team must survive 5 rounds in knockout mode. In the 20/21 final, Borussia Dortmund went home as a proud winner. Borussia clearly defeated the RB Leipzig team 4:1. BVB has won the DFB Cup final for the fifth time. However, Bayern Munich holds the title record with a total of 20 cup wins and 24 appearances in finals, followed by Werder Bremen in second place, ahead of FC Schalke and Dortmund.
