It is no secret that the prices of food products in Poland increased sharply due to inflation. The increases also included basic items such as oil, bread and butter, which are used on a daily basis in most Polish kitchens. Katarzyna Bosacka, who is on Facebook, decided to take a closer look at the raging prices recently published an interesting comparison of butter prices in Poland and in Poland Italy. She came to extremely interesting conclusions.
When talking about prices, social media users show the so-called horror receipts. Although in the case of reports from Italy one could expect a similar situation, it turns out to be quite different. In this case, it is not the inhabitants of Italy, but Poland that leave the store with this type of receipt. As Katarzyna Bosacka showed on the example of a photo sent by her observer, who visited the town of Bruneck in Dolomitach, the price of butter in Italy is lower than in our country.
Italians are not afraid of dread receipts. “Rossi” will buy nearly 800 cubes of butter more than “Kowalski”
Katarzyna Bosacka showed a photo taken in a store belonging to the Spar chain, which shows that a cube of butter in Italy costs 1.59 euros in the promotion (1.75 euros at the regular price). The photos published earlier by the journalist show that the price of butter in Polish stores it ranges between PLN 6.99 and PLN 12.99. It is worth mentioning here, however, that in Poland, a standard cube of butter is 200 g, while in Italy it is 250 g.
“And so, for a 250 g cube you have to pay 1.59 euros there (in Italy), or 6.36 euros per 1 kg. Calculated, at today’s euro exchange rate, this gives the amount of 28.74 zlotys per 1 kg, or 200 In Italy, we will pay PLN 5.75 a cube. In Poland, a cube of butter currently costs about PLN 7 (although it happens that we have to pay even PLN 10 for it!), i.e. it is more expensive than in Italy, but the difference is visible only when we pay attention to the average salaries in both countries ” – Katarzyna Bosacka stated in the entry.
Later in the post, the journalist calculated the purchasing power of an Italian and a Pole earning an average salary. The comparison showed a striking difference and showed that although the initial price of butter cubes does not differ so drastically from each other, nevertheless in the end, with an average salary, “Kowalski” can buy nearly 800 cubes of butter less than “Rossi” for his salary.
