As planned, from February 9 to 11, 2022, AdventureNEXT Latin America was held in Panama City, one of the most important events of the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA), the largest association of travel leaders in Latin America. world adventure.
This is the first version of the event in Central America, which highlighted Panama as a tourist destination and showed the potential of adventure experiences that the country has, both in the city and in the interior, in order to give know them worldwide, attract tourists and reactivate tourism.
As part of the activities, the participants were able to learn about the tourist attractions of Boquete, in the province of Chiriquí, in order to include them in their range of destinations. More than 164 representatives of tourism companies participate in person and 30 thousand virtual.

In addition, they learned about the biodiversity that Panama offers with its natural jewel Coiba, in the province of Veraguas, as a tourist destination and what it means for the region’s economy.
“The event permeates the local economy and is a window to show the potential of adventure tourism, a market that represents $683 billion,” said the Tourism Authority.
In addition, adventure tourism developed on the basis of sustainability serves to preserve and restore the environment and its ecosystems, as well as the culture of each community and its long-term economy.
The event combined educational sessions, workshops, conferences and individual networking opportunities with pre- and post-adventure activities for delegates and attendees, who will be able to experience traditional Panamanian culture, dance and cuisine throughout the event.

Adventure Next was designed for ATP-registered travel agencies (type A and B), who want to educate themselves on the latest trends and learnings in the adventure travel industry.
It is also an ideal space for Panamanian companies to offer their tourism products to international travel agencies and highlight them in the media from various parts of the world, specialized in adventures, which reinforces the position of Panama among adventure tourists as a destination unique for its biodiversity, ethnodiversity and accessibility.
