The wife of the Petrich priest, Father Nikola Chopakov – Tanya Chopakova, passed away yesterday, at the age of 33.
For months, the young woman, mother of two children, has been battling cancer, before which medicine has proved powerless, writes struma.com.
Tanya was placed in the best leukemia clinic in Germany.
Petrich and the whole of Bulgaria united in her help.
There was an active fundraising campaign “Together for Tanya”. A huge amount of money was collected for her treatment, but the disease turned out to be stronger and she lost her very young.
The people of Petrich know Tanya as an extremely kind, sunny and good person, a wonderful mother and wife. Unfortunately, despite the efforts, sometimes fate is cruel. Condolences to the family and a tribute to all the good people who took an active part in the campaign to help Tanya.
