West Ham United will not separate Kurt Zoumawho will be at the orders of his coach, David Moyesthis weekend despite the controversy it generated when a video was made public in which it is seen how he kicks, slaps and throws a shoe at a cat.
This was confirmed by the English coach at a press conference, although he reiterated his contempt for the violence exerted by Zouma against the animal.
“I understand that there are many opinions about whether he should play or not, but we have decided that he will and I will support that.” Moyes at a press conference.
“I don’t think any club would have acted as quickly as West Ham have, they have done a great job. I don’t excuse Zouma, his actions were terrible and diabolical, but we have decided to let him play.”
Moyes also announced that the club will help the centre-back so that he understands the seriousness of his actions and that the organization for the aid of animals, RSPCA, will give courses to Zouma so that he learns to respect and treat animals well. “He hopes that people can forgive him for the mistake he made,” Moyes added.
Zouma was punished with two weeks without salary, about 250 thousand pounds (300 thousand euros) and his cats have been rescued by the RSPCA until the investigation into the footballer is completed. His brother, Yoan, who was the one who recorded the videos, has been suspended by the Fifth Division team in which he plays.
