Ukraine: Russia has 48 hours to respond – World

Ukraine has sent an inquiry to Russia, urging it to receive detailed explanations within 48 hours about its “military activities” in areas close to Ukraine, including Crimea.

This was stated today by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba, specifying that Kiev is implementing the mechanism to reduce the danger, according to the Vienna Document of 2011.

Russia: NATO and the EU have responded disrespectfully

“We have officially implemented the risk mitigation mechanism in accordance with Section III of the Vienna Document and asked the Russian Federation to provide detailed explanations on military activities in areas neighboring Ukraine and the temporarily occupied Crimea,” Kuleba wrote on Twitter.

Russia has 48 hours to respond. If such an answer is not received or it contains insufficient or unreliable information, Ukraine will turn to Russia and other countries participating in the Vienna Document to convene an emergency meeting, at which Russia must provide detailed explanations, the minister said.
