The innovated version of the Ioniq 5 electric car will also offer new thermo-active battery management, innovative SFD shock absorbers or new decor combinations.

The carmaker Hyundai has introduced an innovated medium-sized electric CUV Ioniq 5, which for the model year 2023 will mainly offer a completely new set of batteries with a usable capacity of 77.4 kWh. However, this is not the only improvement that the Ioniq 5 model will offer to global markets in February 2021.
As part of the modernization, the camera will also receive digital exterior and interior rear-view mirrors for the first time. The DCM (Digital Center Mirror) system should improve the view from the car and offer an unobstructed panoramic image of what is happening in the rear. The DCM system camera is stored in the rear spoiler.

However, the modernized Ioniq 5 electric car will also feature DSM (Digital Side Mirrors), which will be the first car in Europe to be offered by the Hyundai Motor Group. DSM mirrors reduce aerodynamic drag and promise a clear view to the rear, even in bad weather.
An important novelty, however, is the new function of active preheating of the traction battery. The Ioniq 5 automatically adjusts the battery temperature while driving to ensure the best possible charging conditions as soon as you stop at the charging station – regardless of hot or cold weather.

The function should be activated automatically when the driver enters the charging station in the vehicle navigation system and uses the online guidance function. The journey will be made more pleasant by the innovative functions of SFD (Smart Frequency Dampers), which improve the suspension of the front and rear axles, thus increasing comfort.
In terms of design, the modernized Hyundai Ioniq 5 will offer new combination options, including unpainted black bumpers with black trim strips in combination with LED projection lighting.
The modernized Hyundai Ioniq 5 should enter European markets in the second half of this year.
