The prices of processed foods -excluding alcohol and tobacco- remained virtually stable in 2021 at 1.7 percent (+0.2%). Inflation for these products will increase at the end of the year, among other things due to the sharp rise in the prices of certain agricultural commodities on the world and European markets, such as grains, dairy products, oils and coffee. For unprocessed foods on the other hand, annual inflation fell from 4.7% to -2.2%. According to the Price Observatory, this can be explained by the particularly high prices in 2020.
