Starting March 1, Pay Using QRIS Can Up To Rp 10 Million

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Bank Indonesia (WITH A) again increase the maximum limit or transaction limit using Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard or QRIS.

BI Governor Perry Warjiyo said that starting March 1, 2022, the QRIS transaction limit would be increased from IDR 5 million to IDR 10 million.

The increase is one of the steps taken by the central bank to maintain the momentum of national economic recovery.

“BI increased the QRIS transaction limit from Rp 5 million to Rp 10 million per transaction, effective March 1, 2022,” said Perry, in a virtual press conference, Thursday (10/2/2022).

Furthermore, Perry said, the decision was also made to encourage the level of public consumption, which in turn hoisted the national economy.

The central bank noted that QRIS transactions continued to increase in line with public acceptance, both nominal and volume, where each increased by 290 percent on an annual basis (year on year/yoy) and 326 percent yoy.

“Bank Indonesia (BI) continues to encourage payment system innovation and maintain the smooth and reliable payment system,” said Perry.

For information, BI last raised the QRIS transaction limit in May 2021, at which time the central bank increased the limit or limit on the value of transactions using QRIS from Rp 2 million to Rp 5 million per transaction.
