To counter the arrival of some 1,700 vehicles in the capital scheduled for this weekend, the Paris police headquarters has unveiled a device of special machines in order to deter demonstrators.
For several days the demonstrators of the “freedom convoy” have been gathering on the roads of France, with the ambition of converging on Paris. If the bulk of the troops is expected this Saturday, the first vehicles could arrive as early as this Friday evening.
The demonstrators denounce both their dissatisfaction with the health restrictions, vaccination pass in mind, but also carry economic and social demands.
The Paris prefecture has already banned the holding of this event, and decided to show the muscles this Friday morning. From its Twitter account, the prefecture has unveiled “special devices” that could be used to undermine the gathering.
