Transfer update: Cristiano Ronaldo

With five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo saying he is not happy with Manchester United, there seems to be a new development about his future.

Ronaldo on worst streak since 2010

According to the daily mirrorThe 37-year-old will hold talks with his agent Jorge Mendes next month as he seeks a way out of the Red Devils after a difficult campaign.

The former Real Madrid talisman has been frustrated in recent weeks amid his worst goalscoring drought since 2010, failing to score in his last five games in all competitions.

He was benched by caretaker manager Ralf Rangnick for the Premier League’s midweek draw with Burnley, but appeared as a second-half substitute before bursting into the tunnel after the final whistle without shaking hands with his opponents or greet traveling fans.

It is claimed that Ronaldo could be influenced to stay at United if the club’s upcoming managerial appointment suits him, with Rangnick expected to be replaced permanently at the end of the season.

Mauricio Pochettino and Erik ten Hag are strongly linked with the job, while Spaniard Luis Enrique is said to continue to be admired by the 20-time English champions given his track record.

Ronaldo was involved in a slight issue with Rangnick when he was taken off in United’s 3-1 win over Brentford last month, and the Portuguese striker couldn’t hide his disappointment and anger as he left the field.

Since his return to the Theater of Dreams in August last year, the former Juventus man has scored 14 goals in 25 games, with just eight of those goals coming in the league.
