Almost on the horn of the closing of the market the Celtics have exchanged more pieces, this time with the Houston Rockets. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, an old acquaintance returns to Boston: Daniel Theis. In return, Dennis Schröder, Enes Freedom and Bruno Fernando will leave for Houston.
The German center, who already played for the Celtics between 2017 and 2021, returns to what was his first home in the NBA. This season, Theis was averaging 8.4 points and 5 rebounds per game in 26 games with the Rockets. Daniel has already played more than 200 games with the Boston franchise.
Meanwhile, the Rockets get a point guard like Dennis Schröder, who had been featured in many trade rumors in recent weeks and seemed destined to leave the Celtics. In addition, they get two pivots like Bruno Fernando and Enes Freedom. However, according to Wojnarowski, the Rockets will cut the Turk and Fernando could do the same in the next few hours.
With this trade, the Celtics greatly improve their interior rotation. Theis, like until a year ago, will exchange minutes with Robert Williams, the team’s starting center this season.
