Juventus to the semifinals after eliminating Sassuolo

Juventus qualify for the semifinals Italian Cup after getting rid of Sassuolo. Bianconeri won with a score of 2-1 over Sassuolo in the quarterfinals.

Laga Juventus vs Sassuolo in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals, it was held at the Allianz Stadium, Friday (11/2/2022) early morning WIB. The first half ended in a 1-1 draw after a goal Paulo Dybala replied by Hamed Junior Traore.

Juventus then appeared so dominant in the second half. Juventus’ onslaught finally paid off in the 88th minute after the kick Dusan Vlahovic led to Ruan’s own goal.

Juventus will next face Vlahovic’s former team, Fiorentina, in the Coppa Italia semifinals. Fiorentina qualified after a 3-2 win over Atalanta in the quarterfinals.

The course of the match

Juventus had taken the lead when the game had only been running for three minutes. Paulo Dybala gave Juventus a 1-0 lead through his volley.

Alex Sandro moved down the left and passed the ball to Weston McKennie. He opened fire, but was blocked by Ruan. The ball threw up at Dybala and the Argentine volleyed home the ball.

Sassuolo tried to retaliate. Domenico Berardi fired hard, but Mattia Perin was still able to parry it.

Sassuolo equalized in the 24th minute. Hamed Junior Traore worked a one-two with Gianluca Scamacca and finished with a shot. The ball went into the top corner of the goal and Perin could not anticipate.

Juventus created opportunities through Alex Sandro’s bait which was continued by McKennie with a header. But Pegolo blocked the ball.

The golfer made another good save. This time he blocked Vlahovic’s shot with his foot.

Juventus had a number of chances in the second half. In the 55th minute, McKennie’s shot hit the post.

The chaos in front of Sassuolo’s goal has not resulted in a goal for Juventus. Starting from Dybala’s free kick, the ball was headed by McKennie and cleared by Pegolo. De Ligt latched on to the ball but it hit the post.

Morata got a chance after only dealing one on one with Pegolo. However, Morata failed to beat Pegolo after his shot was blocked by the Sassuolo goalkeeper.

Pegolo again had to work hard to secure the goal of Sassuolo. Starting from a throw-in McKennie, the ball was headed by Rabiot. Golfers can still anticipate it.

Juventus’ efforts to score a goal finally paid off in the 88th minute. Dusan Vlahovic entered the penalty box from the left despite being heavily guarded by a Sassuolo defender. He then fired from a tight angle. The ball hit Ruan and made Pegolo dead. This goal was later declared an own goal by Ruan.
