Liverpool managed to beat Leicester City 2-0 in continuation Premier League. The Reds’ two winning goals were bought by Diogo Jota.
Liverpool host Leicester City at Anfield in the Premier League match, Friday (11/2/2022) early morning WIB. Jurgen Klopp’s troops appeared dominant throughout the 90 minutes.
They recorded possession of the ball at 65.2 percent compared to Leicester’s 34.8 percent. Liverpool could score in the 34th minute through Diogo Jota.
After the goal, Liverpool continued to pound the Foxes defense. They recorded a total of 22 shots with 11 on goal. Leicester who were under more pressure only made five attempts with one on target.
Liverpool could only double the advantage in the 84th minute again from Diogo Jota’s score. This 2-0 victory brought Liverpool now collect 51 points.
They are in second place, nine points behind Manchester City at the top of the table. Meanwhile, Leicester are in 12th position with 26 points.
The course of the match
The hosts took the initiative to attack early in the match. However, it was Leicester who actually presented a dangerous opportunity first in the 5th minute.
James Maddison was freed from the guard after receiving a ball from Ademola Lookman. However, his shot from a narrow angle on the left side of the penalty box can still be dammed Alisson.
Liverpool are trying to appear more patient in building attacks. They had their first dangerous chance in the 20th minute.
Trent Alexander-Arnold moves on the right side of the Leicester penalty box. He has space to shoot. His effort but still well parried by Kasper Schmeichel.

Left behind, Leicester tried to appear more pressing. Even so, their attacks were easily suppressed by Liverpool defenders.
The Reds are back in control again towards the end of the first half. Roberto Firmino tried to threaten from a long-range shot in the 42nd minute. His efforts have not yielded results because Schmeichel well read the direction of the ball.
Firmino again had a chance in the 45th minute through his neat combination with Jota. Schmeichel again thwarted the Brazilian’s experiment by being able to ward off the ball.
Score 1-0 for Liverpool lasted until halftime.
Two minutes after the break, Liverpool immediately kicked off. Jota who stabbed from the left side of the penalty box kick off measured. Schmeichel is still a wall for Liverpool’s efforts to double the advantage. He flew off the ball.

In the last six minutes of the match, both teams attacked each other. But no more goals were created. Score 2-0 for Liverpool closed the game.
