Missing toddler found lifeless in Antwerp train tunnel

A 5-year-old toddler was found dead this afternoon in a train tunnel at Antwerp-Central station in Belgium. Shortly before that, the boy had been reported missing after disappearing near the station.

Flemish media report that the child is hit by a car by train. The authorities are currently assuming a tragic accident. The collision has seriously disrupted train traffic around Antwerp.

Even in the evening the trains are still delayed. That has to do with the investigation into the death of the child. It is not yet known when the trains will run according to schedule again.
