The central theme of the campaign is ‘the love people have for their dogs’. A love that is not only very powerful, but for some people is even stronger than the love for their partner. To launch this campaign, Lidl and BBDO made a special video clip starring Flanders’ favorite showbiz couple: Nicole & Hugo. Nicole and Hugo themselves are avid animal lovers: they had a four-legged friend for years and only started their cruising career after the animal had died, because otherwise they would be away from home too often.

In addition, ‘Baby, baby’, one of their first hits, is celebrating its 50th birthday this year. As a result, they blew together with their golden oldie new life. The original song is also the song with which Nicole and Hugo represented our country at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1973, just under 50 years ago.
