Two occupants of a cabin were able to contact the Sierra County Sheriff’s Office to ask foraide, reported Cnews. The couple were running out of food supplies and explained that they had found each other blocked after a winter storm in December, leaving significant chuts of trees and snow.
“Due to the remote location, and limited access caused by winter conditions, California Highway Patrol Flight Operations has been contacted and a request for mutual aid to rescue the couple has been made.”, local authorities said.
“The H-20 was able to land near the cabin, while very strong winds were blowing”, the sheriff’s office said.
