Central Government Asks Jabodetabek WFH Civil Servants to Start Next Week

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

The Minister of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (Menpan RB) Tjahjo Kumolo made recommendations to all government agencies in Indonesia. Jabodetabek to invite state civil apparatus (ASN) or civil servants to work from home (work from home/WFH).

Tjahjo said the WFH would be held on Monday (7/2). He said the policy was implemented in an effort to break the chain of transmission of Covid-19.

“The office fully WFH for 3 days until Monday, February 7 to decide the potential for transmission between employees. If it is calculated from Saturday-Sunday on February 5 and 6, it becomes 4 days, enough for incubation time,” said Tjahjo in a written statement, Friday (4/2).

Tjahjo gave another alternative, namely working from the office at a maximum of 10 percent of capacity. He assessed that the limitation on the number of ASN in the office was still in accordance with the PPKM level 2 rules.

The PDIP politician also asked officials of every agency to prevent the transmission of Covid-19. One of them is by limiting face-to-face meetings with people from outside the agency.

“Requesting ministries/agencies/local governments throughout Greater Jakarta to tighten the entry of guests, as well as limiting physical meetings in offices, as well as increasing office spraying/disinfection,” he said.

Previously, the Covid-19 Handling Task Force recorded 32,211 new cases on Friday (4/2). The series of new cases brings the number of active cases to 140,254.

The number of Covid-19 transmissions has continued to increase since Indonesia reported cases of the Omicron variant on December 16, 2021. The Ministry of Health has stated that Indonesia is entering the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
