President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) gave a message to residents in the midst of a surge in Corona cases, which reached 27,197 cases in a day. He asked residents to remain calm.
“I ask all of you, ladies and gentlemen, to remain calm,” said Jokowi in a virtual press conference, Thursday (3/2/2022).
Jokowi said that a spike in Corona cases was indeed happening in Indonesia. However, he said, the hospital occupancy rate was still under control.
“Although cases have jumped quite high, occupancy in hospitals is still under control,” he said Jokowi.
He also asked residents to immediately follow the Corona vaccination. In addition, Jokowi ordered Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan and Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto to evaluate the PPKM level.
“I have also ordered the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs as the coordinator of PPKM for Java and Bali and the Coordinating Minister for the Economy as the Coordinator of PPKM outside Java-Bali to immediately evaluate the level of PPKM,” said Jokowi.
