Possessing 6.7 kg of crystal methamphetamine, members of Brimob as well as the Riau Islands Governor’s personal bodyguard arrested

BATAM, KOMPAS.TV – An active member of the police who served in the Brimob Sat. Polda Riau Islands was arrested for possession of narcotics.

The Brimob member with the initials ARG was arrested for possession of 6.7 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine.

This arrest is the result of a case development carried out by officers from the Narcotics Unit of the Tanjung Pinang Police in two different locations, namely Tanjung Pinang and Bintan, against two other fellow suspects, the initials M and DTP.

The Head of Public Relations of the Riau Islands Police, Kombes Harry Goldenhardt, confirmed the arrest of the Tanjung Pinang Narcotics Unit for three suspects.

“It is true that the Tanjung Pinang Police Narcotics Unit officers arrested three suspects M, ARG and ADP, along with confiscation of evidence weighing 6.7 kg of crystal methamphetamine,” he admitted when contacted, Tuesday (1/2/2022).

From one of the suspects, the Head of Public Relations of the Riau Islands Police confirmed that ARG was an active member who served as the personal bodyguard of the Riau Islands Governor.

The Head of Public Relations of the Riau Islands Police did not explain in detail the involvement of the member of the Riau Islands Police Mobile Brigade Unit, who is also the Riau Islands Governor’s personal bodyguard.

However, Harry further disclosed, for the disclosure, the Narcotics Unit of the Tanjung Pinang Police has delegated the case to the Directorate of Drug Investigation of the Riau Islands Police.

“Currently, further intensive investigations are being carried out by the Narcotics Directorate of the Riau Islands Police. When they were handed over, they were with three suspects and the confiscated evidence weighing 6.7 kg of crystal methamphetamine,” he concluded.
