Börse Express – Aktien New York Conclusion: Wall Street remains on the upswing

NEW YORK (dpa-AFX) – The US stock exchanges have continued their recent recovery course. In light of encouraging corporate news from UPS and ExxonMobil
the major stock indices continued to rise on Tuesday. Fresh US economic data hardly dampened the mood. Construction spending rose less than expected in December.

The leading index Dow Jones Industrial closed 0.78 percent higher at 35,405.24 points. The broader S&P 500 rose by 0.69 percent to 4546.54 points.

For the tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 it went up by 0.60 percent to 15,019.68 points. It had skyrocketed by more than 3 percent on each of the past two trading days./la/he
