The Limoges CSB has concluded an agreement with a Latvian basketball player by the end of the season.
Jakovičs joined the Valmiera team at the end of November and played eight games in the ranks of Valmiera in the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League, in which he scored 11.5 points in an average of 26 minutes spent on the field. In two Latvian Cup games, he scored an average of 15.5 points.
He did not succeed last season due to an injury, as he played only seven games in the Ukrainian “Super League” team of Kiev “Budiveļnik”, which he joined in February. In the ranks of the Kiev team, he scored an average of 5.4 points, won 1.1 rebounds and returned 1.3 assists.
During his career, Jakovičs has represented several Latvian teams, including Ventspils, VEF Rīga, Liepājas Lauvas and Gulbenes Bukus. After the 2018/2019 season, the Latvian basketball player went on to become a legionnaire, joining the Italian A-series team Varese “Openjobmetis”
The 28-year-old basketball player spent his best season in the 2017/2018 season, when “Ventspils” raced in 22 matches, averaging 10.9 points, winning 2.2 rebounds and returning 2.5 assists.
In the Latvian men’s team, Jakovičs went to the field in 21 matches, in which he scored 4.2 points on average, distributed 1.9 assists and won 1.0 rebounds.
The Limoges team, with nine wins in 17 games, finishes ninth in the French Championship standings and is fighting for the playoffs.
