In any case, this is what Dominique Krauskopf thinks, author of a book entitled “The most beautiful trains in the world” in which the Catalan canary appears.
Dominique Krauskopf is a Norman, a great lover of travel and wide open spaces. The train is for him, “another way of traveling and meeting people.” And it is therefore naturally that he discovered many trains all around the world. “The little yellow train? It goes back to my childhood and my father who was interested in small tourist trains. We were traveling in France and that’s where I discovered it”.
From the Orient Express to the Royal Scotsman via the Andalus Expreso…, this book invites the reader to take a seat aboard real rolling palaces and unusual trains for a timeless break, such as the California Zephyr from Amtrak which borrows the vertiginous route of the Rockies which leads up to 3000 meters of altitude.
Three in France
In France, the little yellow train is found in good place alongside a Trinichellu, a Corsican train which connects four of the main cities of the island, and the Tramway du Mont-Blanc (also known as TMB) which is the the highest train in France. These journeys in the mythical trains are supplemented by a travel diary providing practical information. A nice spotlight for the territory during 200 pages which embark amateurs on an original world tour. Dominique Krauskopf is preparing another book for the spring on the little tourist trains in France, where the Yellow Train will once again be in the spotlight.
