The journey of four and a half seasons is over Rodrigo Bentancur from Juventus. The Uruguayan midfielder was released to Tottenham Hotspur.
“Rodrigo Bentancur has moved from the city of Turin to London to continue his career. The Uruguayan midfielder, who joined Juventus in 2017, has left the Bianconeri for Tottenham Hotspur,” read a Juventus statement.
In the details of Juventus’ statement, Tottenham brought Bentancur for a dowry of 19 million euros which was paid over three stages. That amount could increase by 6 million euros.
“We are delighted to announce the signing of Rodrigo Bentancur from Juventus, subject to an international permit and work permit. The midfielder has signed a contract with us until 2026,” read a Tottenham statement.
During his four-and-a-half seasons at Juventus, Bentancur made 181 appearances in all competitions. He recorded three goals, two in Serie A and one in the Italian Cup, as well as 17 assists and a passing success rate of 89%.
In the last four seasons in Serie A, Bentancur has become the Juventus player with the most tackles, namely 205 times and the most interceptions 147 times.
Juventus have also brought in Denis Zakaria from Borussia Moenchengladbach.
