Viral Video of Officers Throwing Luggage Through Airplane Stairs, Lion Air Says Still Investigation

TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – Viral a video showing airline staff Lion Air unload some items from the trunk of the aircraft via the stairs at the back door.

Goods are lowered by rolling down the stairs to the bottom, and even tend to be thrown.

One of the videos was uploaded by Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR RI Ahmad Sahroni through his Instagram account.

In response to this, Corporate Communications Strategic of Lion Air The Danang Mandala Prihantoro Group said it was still investigating the video. He admitted that he could not say much about the video.

“Explanation Lion Air from the video that circulated and developed, that Lion Air Currently, we are still conducting further investigations,” he said in a statement received by Kompas.com, Sunday (30/1/2022).

However, he explained that passenger baggage is generally not placed in the aircraft cabin. According to him, passenger baggage will be placed in the bottom of the plane.

“Passenger’s luggage is not placed in the aircraft cabin. The arrangement and placement of passenger baggage is at the bottom of the plane,” said Danang.

Conditions for luggage in the aircraft cabin

Reported from the official website Lion Air, provisions for hand carry, the rules that apply are:

1. Each passenger (except babies) is allowed to bring one cabin baggage with a maximum weight of 7 kg and one personal item such as a laptop bag/baby equipment/reading material/camera/hand luggage . The maximum dimensions of cabin baggage are 40 cm x 30 cm x 20 cm.
