Xiaomi spherical Redmi Note 11 next generation operating system MIUI 13announced that it has made it available in international markets. MIUI’nun The number of monthly active users exceeded 500 million as of the fourth quarter of 2021. The next-gen OS offers useful features like sidebars and widgets, as well as versatile upgrades focused on improving the core experience, including faster storage, higher background processing efficiency, smarter processing, and longer battery life.
Takes the core experience to a new level
MIUI 13 added a new system-level feature, Liquid Storage, to the operating system to manage the way files are stored on devices. In traditional devices, data on devices is constantly rewritten and storage becomes fragmented over time. This slows read and write speeds by up to 50%* in just 36 months. It also affects how fast applications can be accessed and how fast applications access required resources, causing the system to slow down. MIUI 13’s Liquid Storage reduces fragmentation and effectively manages stored data, increasing read and write efficiency by up to 60%. In the long run, the read and write speed of some Android operating systems will decrease by up to 50% after 36 months, while MIUI 13 maintains the literacy rate of up to 95%, giving users a longer “new” experience and extending the lifespan of the device.
Atomized Memory, the ultra-precise memory management feature of MIUI 13, further increases performance by taking RAM efficiency to a new level. This feature analyzes how applications use memory and separates RAM usage processes of a single application into important and unimportant tasks. It then turns off all unimportant tasks, allowing apps to only use memory for what’s important at the moment, allowing more apps to run without sacrificing performance.
MIUI 13 also comes with Focused Algorithms feature that dynamically allocates system resources according to usage scenarios and makes MIUI more fluid and responsive. Smartphone processors distribute resources relatively evenly across all applications without the Focused Algorithms feature. Focused Algorithms gives priority to the active application over others, allowing the processor to focus on important tasks, allowing access to higher speed and higher performance when and where it’s needed.
Another important feature of MIUI 13 stands out as Smart Balance. Designed to automatically find the balance between performance and power consumption, the feature allows users to get the power and speed they need on the go. MIUI 13 extends Smart Balance total battery life up to 10%.
All-new features that increase productivity and personalize the experience
Besides the basic experience improvements, MIUI 13 also brings new features that allow customization and personalization of the experience.
With new widgets, users can personalize their smartphones with convenient modules and notifications on the App Vault or home screen. These widgets are; notifications make it easy to stay on top of things like to-do lists, weather and more. MIUI 13 supports widgets of different sizes. With 2×1, 2×2, 2×3, 4×2, and 4×4 options, users can fit more important information into a single widget and place widgets where they previously did not fit.
Sidebar, another productivity tool in MIUI 13, allows you to access all your favorite apps via floating windows with just a swipe without leaving the current app. This makes it ideal for those looking for an easier way to open multiple apps at once or switch between them quickly. Users can also customize the feature with up to 10 apps in the sidebar.
