During the Second World War, many sportsmen collaborated with the occupier. Yves Pourcher returns to the death sentence in absentia, in 1945, of swimmer Jacques Cartonnet, world champion.
This is the ambiguity of the story. We want to adore him for his exploits and hate him for what he has done. Even today, we do not know what prompted him to collaborate.
He is reproached for his membership in the Militia but above all for the denunciation of his rival, Alfred Nakache, deported with his wife and daughter.
