Anyone who has received a booster vaccination in Lower Saxony no longer needs to submit a current corona test, despite the 2G-plus rule. This relief will come into effect from Saturday, the Ministry of Health announced on Friday in Hanover.
With the new regulation, Lower Saxony is reacting to scientific findings, according to which the risk of infection and transmission of the corona virus “is extremely low after receiving the booster vaccination”, it said. The heavily used test capacities should also be relieved.
2G plus under massive criticism – from organizers and citizens
In Lower Saxony, warning level two has been in effect in many regions since Wednesday: According to this, vaccinated and recovered people only have access to gastronomy, sports and events with an additional test. There is massive criticism of this from organizers and citizens.
The booster vaccinations are usually stored as a third vaccination in the digital vaccination certificate, it said. The exemption from the obligation to test applies from the time of vaccination. For people with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, the second vaccination is decisive and is considered a booster within the meaning of the new regulation.
Since Wednesday, there has been a requirement in large parts of the federal state that people who have been fully vaccinated against the corona virus or who have recovered from an infection must also be tested in order to be able to go to a restaurant or cinema (2G plus).
