Jakarta –
Romelu Lukaku been dragging goals lately. Attacker Chelsea it doesn’t look like a player bought for over 100 million euros now.
Lukaku joined Chelsea at the start of the season for 115 million euros. He is projected to be the team’s fulcrum to score goals, after last season they struggled to break into the opponent’s goal.
But the arrival of Lukaku was also not an immediate solution. This season he is still windy with just eight goals in 24 appearances in all competitions.
In the Premier League, the 28-year-old striker has only scored five goals in 16 matches. Now, his performance has been increasingly highlighted lately because he has been fasting for goals in five consecutive matches.
Former Lazio, Juventus, Milan and West Ham United striker Paolo Di Canio believes Lukaku needs to improve several aspects of his game. Last season when Lukaku was still with Inter Milan, Di Canio already felt a number of his shortcomings.
“A player like Lukaku has to be better in some situations. He is too soft on the ball, he has to improve,” he told Sky Sport Italy quoted Football Italia.
“Tuchel gave him chances in the big games, but Lukaku has to prove more. He was a crucial player for the Inter title last season, but at that time also sometimes had the same problem.”
“Chelsea paid more than 100 million euros to sign him and have to recover his game. Today, it is difficult to imagine someone paying 100 million euros for him. However, nothing prevents him from being successful again in the future,” added Di Canio.
