On 19 June 2020, a birthday party was held in the British Prime Minister’s residence at 10 Downing Street.
It reports ITV News.
The party is said to have been held at the same time as there were strict restrictions on who could meet where and despite the country banning gatherings indoors at this time.
According to the channel, there were up to 30 people at the party, which was arranged by Boris Johnson’s wife Carrie, after Johnson returned from an official visit to a school.
– For ten minutes
Transfer Sky News The Prime Minister’s Office confirms that Johnson received a visit that day.
A group of employees who worked in the office gathered for a short time in the cabinet room after a meeting to congratulate the Prime Minister on the day. He was there for less than ten minutes, a spokeswoman told the channel.
To ITV’s allegations that an incident took place in the Prime Minister’s apartment later in the evening, the spokeswoman responds as follows:
– This is totally untrue. In line with the rules at the time, the Prime Minister hosted a small number of family members that evening.
– Lying so it runs off him
In bad weather
This party is in addition to the so-called “partygate” cases that Johnson has had to answer for in recent weeks. The parties are said to have taken place several times during the pandemic, and the Prime Minister has previously admitted to having attended one of them.
One party was held on April 16, 2021, the day before Queen Elizabeth’s husband, Prince Phillip, was buried. The prince’s death triggered eight days of national mourning.
The incident led to Downing Street having to apologize to Buckingham Palace.
