The choice of entry-level retro scooters is increasingly diverse in Indonesia after the presence of the Yamaha Fazzio Hybrid Connected. This segment is quite tempting and has its own fans, the proof is that Japanese, Italian and Chinese manufacturers participate in marketing their motorbikes in Indonesia.
The modern retro scooter does have its own characteristics, from a body that tends to be rounded to a unique design that attracts the attention of young people. In Indonesia, the capacity of entry-level retro scooters is sold from 110 cc to 125 cc engines.
So, what are the options and what is the cheapest price? the following editorial detikOto summarizes cheap retro scooters.
From the Honda brand, there are two motorcycles that are the mainstay in this segment. The cheapest is of course the Honda Genio, a motorbike built from Project G which was exhibited by Honda in November 2018.

This motorbike carries a 110 cc engine capacity, Genio is called to fill the void between Honda Beat and Scoopy. This motorbike is sold from Rp. 17.9 million – Rp. 18.465 million.
Although the engine capacity is the same, there are a number of differences with the Honda Scoopy. Even compared to the price, there is a price difference of Rp. 2 million.
In terms of design, the Honda Scoopy looks more minimal with sharp angles, has a more retro feel than the Honda Genio. Another difference between the Honda Scoopy and the Genio is the use of wheels. Because Scoopy uses 12-inch tires wrapped in 100/90 (front) and 110/90 (rear).

Other features that are not available on the Honda Genio, but installed on the Scoopy are a storage drawer with a protective cover, smart key alarm and answer back. Honda Scoopy is currently sold from IDR 20..475,000 to IDR 21,275,000.
Unlike Honda, the manufacturer bearing the tuning fork now sells a modern retro scooter with a 125 cc engine.
Yamaha Fazzio Hybrid Connected is trying to take the retro motorcycle segment of the Indonesian market. The motorcycle with the first hybrid technology in its class is sold from Rp. 21.7 million to Rp. 22 million.

To support mobility, Fazzio 125 is equipped with a 17.8 liter luggage capacity, double hook carabiner, open pocket on the right, and charger socket on the left with a closed compartment, and hazard lights.
Next up is the Yamaha Fino. This modern retro motorcycle became the closest opponent of Honda Scoopy before the arrival of Fazzio.

Yamaha Fino both have a curved and rounded vintage body style. This motorbike has the same fuel tank capacity as the Honda Scoopy, which is 4.2 liters.
Speaking of prices, the Yamaha Fino is currently sold from Rp. 19,340,000 to Rp. 20,500,000.
In addition to the presence of retro scooters from Japan, there is also the Benelli brand. An old Italian motorcycle brand that is already under the Chinese auto giant, Geely.

Benelli Panarea, a motorbike with a retro-modern design, will launch at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) Hybrid 2021. Benelli Panarea targets young people. This motorbike is ready to challenge the Vespa LX 125 I-Get which is currently sold for IDR 39.5 million. Panarea uses ring 12 wheels wrapped in 100/90 front tires and 110/90 rear tires.
While the kitchen spur, Panarea equipped with a 124 cc single cylinder engine. Meanwhile, at launch, the price offered was lower than the Vespa LX, which was IDR 25.6 million (OTR Jakarta).
The Taiwanese automotive manufacturer, Kymco, also presents a similar model, namely through the Like150i. The motorcycle was released at the 2019 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS).

In addition to the engine capacity of 150 cc, Like150i is equipped with the Noodoe Navigation feature, which is connected to a smartphone. So that when relying on navigation it remains safe without having to look at the smartphone device. Currently the motorbike is sold starting from Rp. 35.5 million (OTR Jabodetabek).

Then don’t forget the entry-level Vespa variant offered in Indonesia, namely the Vespa 125 i-get. The war is fairly bold with a bright and youthful feel. The Vespa LX variant is currently selling for 39.5 million (OTR Jadetabek) and the Vespa S is sold for Rp. 41 million (OTR Jadetabek).
