Inyaki Urdangarin was at the center of one of the scandals that has rocked the Spanish royal family in recent years. He was found guilty of using his connections to win public contracts. Christina’s husband received a sentence of five years and ten months in prison. She was also investigated for complicity in tax fraud, but the case was dropped.
Because of the scandal Felipe the Sixth took away their titles.
Infanta Kristina now lives in Geneva. She declined to comment on the divorce announcement.
