The three are expected to announce an investment plan of more than 20 billion euros over the next five years for the development of electric vehicles on Thursday, the sources said. By 2030, the alliance is expected to come with more than 30 new battery-powered EVs, supported by five common platforms.
The “Alliance to 2030” plan aims to show “intensified co-operation” between carmakers, highlighting a “common vision for electrification and connected mobility,” said one source. The five common platforms are expected to cover 90% of the electric vehicles that companies should develop and launch by 2030.
