Exhibition We need a chance to be reborn (We need an opportunity to be reborn) tells about an individual’s ability to see the future in crisis situations. Thus, the works of the artist Andris Vītoliņš combine the belief in ideas, thoughts and “rebirth” in the physical space. Namely, the ideas that have turned into objects and objects in paintings are given an opportunity to be reborn and renewed.
“In my work, I try to capture the vibrant flow of the world. On the one hand, the paintings are inhabited by man-made, relatively stable structures, but on the other hand, there is also an irrational world that extends far beyond the underground, obvious environment. “We encounter many things and phenomena as flashes – first the thought or process is active, but after a while – it fades and expands. At that moment, our physical location is important – whether we are in the center or on the periphery of the process,” says Andris, the author of the exhibition. Willow.
The exhibition will be open to visitors at Vilnius Town Hall, located in the Old Town of Vilnius and one of the most important venues for local political, economic and cultural life. The exhibition will also be on display at the Contemporary Art Gallery Art Niche, which has been organizing international contemporary art projects in cooperation with foreign galleries, cultural institutions and individual artists since 2009.
