This is despite the fact that there are space restrictions in the cinemas of a maximum of 200 visitors per screening.

By comparison, the previous Spider-Man movie “Far from Home” had 209,000 visitors throughout July 2019 (after the premiere on July 3).

Fourth best ever

The trade association Film & Cinema reports that “No Way Home” makes the fourth best opening weekend of all time – since the current registration system was established in 2003.

The three films that have had better opening weekends were all without pandemic restrictions:

“Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” from 2005 (201,350 visitors), “Ice Age 2” from 2006 (190,926) and “James Bond: Specter” from 2015 (179,065).

Coronarekord

– There is no doubt that this is a record for the time being with coronary restrictions, no matter how we measure this. The opening that comes closest in the corona era is “James Bond: No Time to Die” with 153,042 (premiere October 1, 2021). It is in 16th place in recent times, says CEO of Film & Kino, Guttorm Petterson to VG.

He estimates that the capacity for Spider-Man could have been close to double, and that with the restrictions around 60-70 percent of the cinema halls’ capacity has been sold.
