The left lane of the A2 from Maastricht to Eindhoven was closed around a quarter past six on Monday morning after an accident near Valkenswaard. Two trucks were involved.
The lane closure led to a ten kilometer traffic jam from Weert-North around seven o’clock. The ANWB warns of an hour delay.
Detour
Due to all the problems on the road, a diversion has been put in place. Traffic towards Eindhoven is advised to drive over Venlo and take the A73 and A67.
How the accident could have happened is under investigation.
Another accident
An accident also happened on the A2 from Den Bosch to Utrecht on Monday morning around a quarter past six, near Kerkdriel. The right lane was closed here. This led to a six kilometer traffic jam from Veghel around half past six, good for a twenty minute delay. By seven o’clock the problems here were largely a thing of the past.
